when i started doing music videos/videos in general. i knew i wanted to do it because of a very special camera.
my parents bought a Sony Handycam DCR-DVD92 around 2006. this camera was used by my family up until about 2011. my whole family used this specific camera to record most of our home videos of us growing up. after 2011 the camera went untouched, sitting in its case in a closet. that was until 16 year old me got it back out and experimented with it. I plugged it in and played around with it and was amazed by the camera. it had a nice zoom, touch screen, and most importantly, night vision. from then on i was determined to do something with this camera. later on, i found out i wanted to do music videos. and a big factor to that decision was because of the camcorder. i knew people would love that nostalgic look.
so, wflicks. was started with its first video "Fucked up" with JoeyIsFire. When planning that video, i showed joey the camera and he was super excited to have it filmed with it.
so, from then on i carried this camcorder with me when i went out. but mostly during the summer time, with the intention of making this video.
so when the time came around to making it after summer ended, i posted it to youtube but put it as unlisted. i went to my snapchat and posted a story asking people for feedback on the video and if i should make it public. even after doing this and getting answers, i was still hesitant to post because i thought the video was a little personal for my flicks brand. i sat on the video for 4 months. until january when i finally decided to make it public.
i hope to look back at this video in the future and see how far ive come and grown.
